Consistent Updates & the Unit Calendar

The Unit Calendar contains dates for training nights, fundraising events, field training exercises, as well as other important and fun activities. We also have a Facebook Group to make general announcements that could require immediate attention, so keep an eye out for posts!

Cadets and parents are expected to check our social media and Google Calendar weekly,
as they are active platforms that will update as changes occur at any time.

Absences

If a Cadet is late they must report to the Administration Officer upon arrival.

If a Cadet cannot attend a Cadet-related activity, they must notify staff ahead of time by either:
  • Emailing the Administration Officer at 2332admn@gmail.com or;
  • Filling out the Report Your Absence form below or;
  • Calling on Wednesday night (613-993-7214) starting at 1745 hrs (5:45pm)
Cadets may be excused from training, but if the reason for the absence is considered invalid they will not be considered for any activities, camps or special trips that the Corps organizes. We have no issues with Cadets missing training, but it must be reasonable.
An important responsibility we teach is accountability and honesty, these lessons all start with their personal attendance, and we expect our Cadets to be 100% accountable.

Changes to Personal Information

If you have changed your address, contact information or renewed your health card you must inform the Administration Officer of these changes by:
  • Emailing the Administration Officer at 2332admn@gmail.com or;
  • Speaking directly to the Administration Officer on a Monday or Wednesday evening.

Having up-to-date information is very important, as we need to be able to contact you and your Cadet at any time. Keep in mind, a Cadet cannot participate in any Cadet-related activity without having a valid health card.

Attendance

School and family come first, Cadets come second.

All cadets must attend the weekly mandatory training nights. You need to attend a minimum of 60% of the training nights to pass your star level.

It is important for your Cadet to learn to properly manage their time in order to balance their activities. Cadets who are absent for 3 consecutive training nights will be spoken to in order determine their commitment to the program. The CO has final jurisdiction over the future of the Cadet’s participation in the unit.
Participation in the following activities is mandatory to complete the Star Level requirements:
  • Minimum of 1 Field Training Exercise
  • Minimum of 2 Poppy Campaign shifts
  • Minimum of 2 Fundraising shifts
  • Participation in a Remembrance Day Parade
  • Participation in the Annual Ceremonial Review
All of our activities can be found on the Unit Calendar

Cadets are taught a variety of subjects,
known as Performance Objectives (PO) that include:
  • Citizenship
  • Community Service
  • Leadership
  • Personal Fitness and Healthy Living
  • Marksmanship
  • General Cadet Knowledge
  • Drill and Ceremonial
  • Biathlon
  • CAF Familiarization

The Star Levels will become progressively more challenging and introduce
different standards and skill sets as they progress through the years.

Once a Cadet completes the Gold Star level, this ends the mandatory classroom training.
Cadets at the Master Cadet level are trained to take on teaching
roles within the Star Levels and are assigned various tasks by the Officer Staff.

Do you have additional questions about how your Cadet can get promoted, or what they need to do in order to achieve a Fitness Level? Check out the respective links below for more information!
