These trophies are presented during the Annual Ceremonial Review (ACR) in June to outstanding Cadets that meet or exceed each of the listed criteria, in their respective categories.

Commanding Officer's Leadership Award- Awarded to the cadet who has shown dedication to serving and impacting the Corps and the Cadet Program;
- Good standing attendance (80+); - Consistently sets a prime example to other cadets; - Exemplifies the model cadet; - Highly respected by fellow cadets as well as staff members; - Exemplifies all the qualities of a leader as well as performs to the principles of leadership. |

Medals of Merit & Recognition
Army Cadet Service MedalThe Army Cadet League of Canada has created an award to recognize continuous meritorious Cadet service of at least four years by deserving Army Cadets. To qualify for this award, a serving Cadet must have successfully completed four years of honourable service with no serious infractions, and be recommended by the Cadet Corps Commanding Officer. Furthermore, eligible service is portable between Army Cadet Corps. Army Cadets are also eligible to receive a Bar for each year of training completed beyond the four year qualifying period.

Cadet Medal of BraveryThe Cadet Award of Bravery may be awarded to a Cadet who performs an outstanding deed of valour involving risk of life in attempting to save the life or property of others.
The navy blue represents the affiliation between the Royal Canadian Sea Cadets and the Royal Canadian Navy, the red is for the affiliation between the Royal Canadian Army Cadets and the Canadian Army and the light blue is for the affiliation between the Royal Canadian Air Cadets and the Royal Canadian Air Force. |
Major-General W.A. Howard AwardMajor-General W. A. Howard, CMM, CM, CD, QC, Colonel Commandant Royal Canadian Army Cadets from 1974 to 1979, established an annual award for outstanding army cadets known as "The Major-General W. A. Howard Medal" as a legacy to promote training excellence by senior Army Cadets through a structured assessment of a Cadet's overall performance. This award will recognize the cadet in each province and territory who has achieved the highest results in the 4th year (Gold Star) training level annually as they prepare to enter into the Year 5 (Master Cadet) level.
Approving authority for this award is the Army Cadet League of Canada. |
Royal Canadian Legion Cadet Medal of ExcellenceThe Royal Canadian Legion (RCL) Cadet Medal of Excellence is awarded in recognition for individual endeavours in citizenship that meet or enhance the aims and objectives of the Cadet movement.
This medal is presented to a Cadet who, over many years, has actively participated in community service activities and works exceptionally well with fellow Cadets, volunteers and unit officers. The Cadet must also consistently promote esprit de corps, comradeship, goodwill, and enhance the image of Cadets in their local community. The Cadet must have fulfilled all requirements of the Corps local headquarters annual mandatory training program and participated in 75% of the optional training. In addition, the Cadet must have participated in at least three community service events, in addition to the Corps supported programs. This medal is selected by the Commanding Officer on the advice of Corps officers and NCOs. |
Lord Strathcona MedalThe Lord Strathcona Medal is the highest award, which can be bestowed upon a Cadet in recognition of exemplary performance in physical and military training.
The Medal and the accompanying Certificate of Merit are awarded by the Lord Strathcona Trust. The issue and wearing of the LSM is authorized by the Chief of the Defence Staff. Each Army Cadet Corps has the opportunity to award one medal in each training year, but the award of the medal is to be based solely on the availability of a worthy candidate. Awarding the LSM annually is not mandatory and is not a matter of any custom for a particular appointment or by seniority alone. This medal is selected by the Commanding Officer on the advice of Corps officers and NCOs. |
ANAVETS Cadet Medal of MeritThe Army, Navy and Air Force Veterans in Canada (ANAVETS), as a legacy to its desire to promote excellence and awareness of the CCO, has established the Army, Navy and Air Force Veterans in Canada Cadet Medal of Merit (ANAVETS Cadet Medal of Merit).
One medal shall be awarded at each CTC to the Top Cadet for each Instructor level course. |
Order of St. George MedalThe Order of St. George will award a medal to honour Staff Cadets who distinguish themselves in their exemplary contribution at a CTC or at a Junior Canadian Ranger Enhanced Training Session (ETS) during the summer training period.
The Cadet must meet all requirements of the CTC / ETS summer training program and is regarded by peers and superiors as exemplifying the model Cadet/JCR. The Cadet must also be a member in good standing of one of the three Cadet organizations (Sea, Army, Air) or the JCR program and has demonstrated outstanding leadership and compassion for subordinates. He/she is able, through different leadership techniques, to motivate subordinates to do what was required, has completed three years as a Cadet / JCR, has participated in community service events that the CTC /ETS promotes during the summer, and has demonstrated leadership qualities and instructional abilities. |
